After a good weeks training we took a squad of 25 to Charlton Park. On the back of last weeks game and one eye on the beginning of the season we were looking for greater intensity in both our attack and defence. Even though we managed to grab a win and score 4 tries over the whole game, we definitely left at least another 5 tries out on the pitch. A massive positive from yesterday was the amount of chances we created and how easily the new boys have managed to step into our way of playing. Next week will be a great tester for us against a well drilled Hertford side. I know the lads are very keen to get stuck in and lay their own marker down to be in the first 18 man squad for our first league game. But first we have to knuckle down and iron out some finer points to our game on Tuesday and Thursday.
