What a great way to end our first season, with victory at the Coopers Vets Festival where it all started the year before. The festival wasn't as well attended this season with only 3 teams turning up on the day. So the format was just to play a round robin against each team in 30 minute matches.
Our first match was against Upminster who put up a good fight but we proved to good running out easy winners. The second was against the much fancied Dambusters who were a barbarians team made up of players from around Essex and London and were Captained by ex Barking boy Paul Goodey and also had Peter Mahoney in their ranks. I must say this was probably the best we have played all season, the intensity and desire not to win was second to none, and there were some wind back the clock performances from all the boys, and we ended up winning 17-7 to hold onto our title.
All that's left for me to say is to thank all the boys that have turned up and played this season, and say thanks to Kenny, Knowles, Razor, Kersey for all there help in running the team this season.
