Director of rugby Andrew Moreland praises Barking’s performance in a 36-7 win at home to Canvey Island on the opening day of the new London Three Essex season.
The Gale Street club began the new term with a five-try success over Island after Marcus Bloomberg crossed for a brace and Sean Triana-Garcia, Samuel John, Sean Mullins and Tommy Stimson also dotted down.
Craig Ratford, meanwhile, added six points from the tee in the victory over Canvey.
And Moreland was delighted with the display from Barking on the opening day of the new term.
“The rugby we played was really pleasing,” Moreland told the club website.
“Defensively, we are a much better unit than last season and you can see the work the boys have put in during training on that aspect of our game is paying off and becoming a real strength of our game.”
“Going forwards we were pleasing on the eye too.”
