The senior section start off season with 2 wins.....

Barking's 1st XV and 2nd XV started off their seasons with wins against Canvey Island and Kings Cross respectively.

The 2's, playing their first game in nearly 3 years suffered some last minute drop outs, Kings Cross were kind enough to lend a couple of players to ensure the game could be played fully. Some entertaining rugby was on show, with little Rich (boo boo) running in 3 tries himself in a 69-10 victory.

The 1's, having watched the 2's before getting ready were pumped and excited to start the season off with a bang.

Running out deserved 36-7 winners, tries from Tucker, SJ, Sean, Mully and Bloomberg helped secure the 5 points on the first game of the season.

DOR Andrew Moreland said afterwards "The rugby today was really pleasing from us, defensively, we are a much better unit than last season and you can see the work the boys have put in during training on that aspect of our game is paying off and becoming a real strength of our game. Going forwards we were pleasing on the eye too, 6 tries scored in one game again, is a massive improvement on last season and you can see the boys enjoying taking the ball forwards. The backs linked up well to score a great looking try whilst the forwards scored off a maul, the principles of the game and the way we want to play our progressing nicely.

We know there are things we need to work on, our decision making on the ball at times needs to be better, do we offload or do we take the ball into contact and recycle but I'm confident that will get better as the season goes on. Saying that, the amount of mistakes we are making are becoming less and less with each game which is a real positive and again shows the hard work put into training by the whole sqaud."

Barking continue their league campaign next week away to Old Cooperians

Man of the match: Dan Peasnell, tackled everything that came at him and was all over the pitch mopping up play and running hard with the ball, just reward for a good performance and hard work during the week.

D**K of the day: George Clark, two out of the back offloads didn't quite go to plan, saying that however, he had a very good game today and it was good to see him play with confidence and send a couple of opponents tumbling when running with the ball.
