The close season of 2008 saw significant improvements to the ground, with the addition of a new 300 seat stand and floodlights on the main pitch as well as new floodlighting on the Youth Pitches thanks to the generosity of The London Borough Of Barking & Dagenham Council.
The 2008-09 season saw Barking earn a respectable mid table position following the mid-season introduction of Alex Codling as Director Of Coaching. The ex-England international’s knowledge of the game helped the team add some experienced players to a predominatly young side. Several Robert Clack academy players made their first team debuts and featured well in the games that they played.
